Tayt Andersen was a fantastic guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, known for his cheerful and radiant personality, and his deep and loving relationship with Ellen, whom he termed his "girlfriend." Ellen, on her part, called Tayt her "only boyfriend," a term that got more and more meaningful as their friendship grew over the years.
Tayt was born with only half a heart and during his childhood, he had to undergo 12 surgeries in total and at 10 years old, he had a heart transplant. He still managed to be a ray of strength and happiness to everyone around him. In his teenage years, he was afflicted with post-transplant lymphoma, and in 2024, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer which led to a new fight for his life. By mid-2025, the cancer was everywhere, it had gone to other parts of his body.
Tayt died quietly at his home with his family around him on the 26th September 2025 at 19 years old. Shannon Becker (his mother) took to Instagram to honor her son and tell about his passing, and the love that was with him at that time. Ellen DeGeneres also shared a video of a memorable moment with the late child, describing him as a “very special little human being” who was always happy and laughing anywhere he went.
The amazing story of his life went straight to the hearts of millions of people, it was the very thing that showed the power of love, and the connection between people. If you want, I could tell you what happened on his visits to Ellen or I could tell you about all the people that love him and the tributes they are sending.
